Always go to maintenance, but what is wrong with changing the oil? Car lubricants are used very frequently during maintenance. In addition to protecting the engine and reducing the number of oil changes, lubricating oil can also save gasoline costs. However, if the lubricant is used improperly, it will cause car breakdown! Let's talk about the four misunderstandings of general car friends about the use of lubricants!

The lubricating oil has turned black, it is time to change the oil

Jie this is the problem encountered by the car owner. Some basin friends believe that the darkening of the lubricating oil is the realization of serious deterioration of the oil, and it must be replaced. In fact, this is only for lubricating oils that have not been added with a quiet dispersant, but the lubricants used in modern cars are generally added with a quiet dispersant. This cleanser will wash off the rubber film and black carbon deposits adhering to the piston and disperse it in the oil, thereby reducing the generation of high-temperature deposits in the engine. Therefore, the color of the lubricating oil is likely to turn black after a period of time. It does not mean that the oil has deteriorated.

Lubricating oil is often added without changing

I just said that it is normal for the lubricant with the decontamination agent to turn black. There is no need to change it, but it can't always be added or not changed! Replenishment without replacement can only make up for the lack of oil quantity, but cannot compensate for the loss of lubricant performance. The landlord should know that the quality of lubricating oil will deteriorate due to pollution, oxidation and other reasons during use, and there will be some consumption, which reduces the quantity. In order to enable the lubricant to exert its performance, it still needs to be replaced after a period of use.

Sometimes additives are very useful

Some friends think that adding additives to lubricants can play a good role. Here, you can tell the owner responsibly that this understanding is wrong! Lubricating oil is a finished product with a variety of engine protection functions. The formula already contains a variety of additives, including anti-wear agents, and the lubricant pays attention to the balance of the formula to ensure its performance.

Adding other additives by oneself not only can not bring extra protection to the vehicle, but it is easy to react with the chemical substances in the oil, causing the overall performance of the oil to deteriorate. Isn't this superfluous?

Add as much oil as you can

There are also friends who think that if you can add more lubricating oil, add more, as if you will suffer a loss if you add less, you have to fill it up every time. Hey~ how come you can't look at it so much! Tell the owner that the amount of lubricating oil should be controlled between the upper and lower marks on the oil dipstick. Because too much lubricating oil will escape from the gap between the cylinder and the piston into the combustion chamber and burn to form carbon deposits.

Carbon accumulation is not a good thing! These coke deposits increase the compression ratio of the engine and increase the tendency to produce knocks; the coke deposits in the cylinder are red hot and easily cause pre-ignition. If they fall into the cylinder, it will aggravate the wear of the cylinder and piston, and will also accelerate the pollution of the lubricating oil.
